JOHNNY CLEGG PERFORMS AT THE JOBURG CITY FEST

The Absa Joburg City Festival is proud to include iconic South African superstar Johnny Clegg to the main event line-up.   Performing an unplugged, intimate show at the Wits Great Hall as part of the Absa Joburg City Festival celebrations, Johnny will be delighting fans with his much-loved repertoire of homegrown classics.

 

Johnny is a natural choice to perform at the festival that celebrates our city’s vibrant regeneration as he embodies all that is powerful and inspiring about our city within his music and his dedication to his country. A worldwide star and one of the best-selling South African artists of all time, Johnny will bring his amazing on-stage energy to the Saturday night celebrations on the 4^th October.

 

In the spirit of the Absa Joburg City Festival, why not spend the day exploring the amazing array of food, culture and entertainment available. All Absa Joburg City Festival venues are within walking distance of the Rea Vaya – so park your car and go to town!

 

Here is a suggested itinerary to enjoy on Saturday 4 October. Park your car at Newtown Junction and explore Joburg City’s newest office and shopping precinct. Then hop on the City Sightseeing bus for an open-top bus tour of town, walk along Main Street Mall in the Corporate Mining District and enjoy the outdoor mining museum exhibitions. Next up is lunch at the Mapungubwe Hotel where you can watch the Springboks take on the All Blacks. After the rugby you can head back to Wits by Rea Vaya bus and enjoy the incomparable Johnny Clegg. Late night, party at the magnificent Randlords rooftop before heading back to Newtown Junction by Rea Vaya bus (a special festival bus route will be on offer).
