Travel Is Colour – #TravelThursday
The world is a living canvas. Painted over time with so much colour, depth and expression that we could spend our whole lives walking it and never see all the detail and beauty that has been splashed across its surface. Travel is colour is an invitation to experience that colour together and share all the beauty we see. Join me, look deeper, be inspired and most importantly: feel the colours of the world through the moving museum of travel.
I started travel is colour after having lots of people ask me many questions about travel but also because I felt that I wanted to share my passion with the world and also get people inspired and excited by travel as much as I am.
As of January 2015 I have travelled 5 continents:
• Africa (South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Egypt and Lesotho)
• Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, China and Vietnam)
• North America (USA)
• South America (Brazil)
• Caribbean (Jamaica)
• Europe (Spain, Portugal, UK, France, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Italy, Monaco, Croatia, Switzerland, Leichenstein)
I have experienced travel through school trips, with friends, family and travelling solo. I have travelled Asia by bus, travelled through Spain and Portugal by Train, have done roadtrips exploring my beautiful country South Africa. I have camped, rented out apartments in New York, stayed in traditional Chinese courtyards, stayed in hostels and have been fortunate enough to have experienced the world’s best hostels in Lisbon. I have travelled the Adriatic sea on a yacht with friends. I have had the opportunity of speaking with a monk in Chiang Mai. In 2014 I climbed the Great Wall of China.I have been to La Tomatina, one of the worlds best festivals. I have lost my passport in Cambodia and travelled on the Mekong River. I have learned how to say cheers in different cultures. I have crashed a scooter in Thailand. I have experienced what I have opened myself up to and I am thirsty to experience more.
Travel has changed me. It continues to change my outlook on life. I have healed my soul through travel. What I have learnt through travel, I could not have learnt from a book. Travel forced me to confront things about myself both beautiful and not so beautiful. It taught me to be open to life, be open to the experiences that life brings. I have realized that I have a lot to be grateful for. Travel has forced me to take risks, to believe in serendipity. Travel is the one thing that is not guaranteed. You don’t know if you will have a terrible or an epic experience, you just have to have faith.
Colour your life with travel. Go explore the beauty of the world. Fall in love with people, places, experiences and the unknown. Make unforgettable kaleidoscope of memories.
