Castle Lite, yet again, UNLOCKED a celebration of epic proportions when 3000 citizens gained access to the extraordinary Republic of Extra Cold on 28 December, delivering unprecedented levels of excitement with a remarkable and proudly South African artist line-up. Whilst the weather may have been blazing, an extra cold Castle Lite could always be found on one of the Republic’s decks; the Ice Cold Core, the Lagered Bar, Lime Deck and the Extra Cold Beach Bar, to bring the temperature back down to -2.5.
The Republic of Extra Cold, the land of the free and refreshed, was a sensational experience, where citizens were treated to a day-night performance they will never forget. The event gained momentum with the unveiling of the Republic’s larger than life flag, proudly carried by all citizens, and led by MC Toll A$$ MO, alongside reigning Republic of Extra Cold President, Pearl Thusi. They hit the Ice Cold Core stage to show citizens exactly how things go down on the extra cold Republic.
Marketing Manager for Castle Lite, Vaughan Croeser says, “The Republic of Extra Cold, now in its third edition, was definitely the place to be this December. The vibe on the island was electric and it was fantastic to see citizens really engage with the artists in the Ice Cold Core arena, and thoroughly enjoy themselves. It has been unbelievable to watch the Republic grow over the past year, becoming one of the most highly anticipated events of summer.”
South Africa’s biggest and hottest artists such as Black Motion, DJ Kent, Beatenburg, DJ Milkshake and Jeremy Loops took to the decks, performing unbelievably cool and energized sets, showcasing the true culture of the Republic, to ‘get down with it’. Let’s not forget the phenomenal performances by Poppy, Sau Bomb, Dino Moran, Craig de Sousa, Timo ODV, DJ PH, DJ Capital, DJ Shimza, Twinz on Decks.
