As far as parties go, #TheElevatedExperienceJHB tops my list of how brands should throw secret parties to please us, the patrons. I don’t know why these people throw parties for sake the of throwing one but, in my little but very professional advertising experience, if Skyy Vodka wanted to create talk-ability about their brand and product, they couldn’t have done it better than they did in Kramerville, North of Joburg.
Again it looked like another star studded event, with plenty of egos and attitudes seamlessly dressed to the nines. Phela! People of Jozi know how to dress for an event and more than any other thing, they know how to party and party we were about to do. 3 bars, 2 on the main floor and one in the Skyy deck, on the rooftop. One bar had the mixers, dash as we fondly refer to it, Cranberry and Redbull were on tap, 2nd bar was a martini bar, dry martinis, wet and virgin martinis were served out. The third bar was a bit of a riddle for me, they served Vodka with soda water with a topping fruit of your choice.
As soon as you stepped in, you were greeted by the lovely girls in blue, resembling the brand’s colour of choice, they tagged us and off we went to the 3rd floor, welcome drinks were on offer and you soon forgot about which DJ was on the line-up. All anybody could think about was, what am I having my next Skyy with?
The flow in the setup made it easier to manoeuvre, we were here to work and play which is something we do so well at Book Of Swag. The space they chose for this occasion was so top notch, because it was just screaming; “go get another drink”. Everywhere you turned; there was either a bar or a waitress on cue to take your order, how awesome?
The turn-up juice was flowing, 2 to 3 hours later, everybody let their guard down and people were smiling to one another genuinely and it didn’t matter who you were or what it was you were doing. The Bar-tenders or the mixologists if I may were so efficient I don’t remember queuing longer than 5 minutes to get a drink at any given time.
Spotted the lovely Nomuzi Mabena doing her rounds with her crew, Lulo café also held it down after Major league Djs rocked in New Age Kwaito, I mean how couldn’t they, they have the hottest joint right now. That Slyza Tsotsi video is heat gents!
Riky Rick was also headlining the performances; he was followed by KO & KidX. The guy who had the best performance of the night must be the vilified, light skinned twitter Sherrif; AKA. His performance was apex and oh so live. It’s also important to note the “LIVE” part.
The vibe was totally abuzz like a hive of bees, the ambience was stellar and like I mentioned a thousand times before the Skyy vodka making the rounds like there was no tomorrow. The sound quality was as perfect as can be. We just couldn’t stop raving about the great service and treatment we received from the Skyy Vodka crew, We had a blast and we wouldn’t mind doing it again.
