MISS SA PAGEANT LIVE SHOW FEATURES TOP SA ARTISTS
Gangs of Ballet, Beatenberg and Sterling EQ to appear at glittering Sun City finale hosted by Proverb
The dazzling Miss SA Pageant – to be held at Sun City on Sunday, March 29 and presented by Sun International in collaboration with Cell C – will feature exciting South African musical talent.
The line-up includes Gangs of Ballet, Beatenberg and Sterling EQ who will entertain both the Superbowl audience as well the thousands of TV viewers watching the live broadcast on M-Net (Channel 101) and Mzansi Magic (Dstv Channel 161) from 17h30 on the night as 12 of the country’s most beautiful young women vie for the Miss SA crown. The show will be hosted by Proverb.
Gangs of Ballet – the five times SAMA nominated, MTV MAMA Award winning band – comprises Brad Klynsmith, Hardus de Beer, Jonathan Rich and Josh Klynsmith. They boast a winning combination of vibrant energy and a host of musically intriguing melodies, that cannot be pinned down to any specific genre but rather experiments with an eclectic mix of alternative, melodic, anthemic, electronic and dance.
“What a great privilege to be playing at such a prestigious South African event. We can’t wait to be there and experience it first hand,” says Klynsmith.
Beatenberg is a fresh new face in local pop music that exploded onto the music scene in 2014. They are creating and defining a “new South African sound that pays homage to our country’s musical heritage whilst also breaking new ground with an unmistakably global pop sensibility”. The band consists of Matthew Field on guitar, Ross Dorkin on bass and Robin Brink on drums.
The SAMA Award-winning all female instrumental pop group Sterling EQ is made up of electric flautist Carina Bruwer, electric violinist Luca Hart and electric cellist Ariella Caira – three classically trained virtuosos with dozens of awards, degrees and distinctions between them, who share a passion for the latest beats and pop music trends.
Says Bruwer: “It’s always great to share the stage with some of SA’s top musical acts so we are looking forward to the event and we get to meet the beautiful Miss South Africa finalists! It’s probably most little girls’ dreams to be a beauty queen one day and although it’s too late for us now, it will be wonderful to experience the event from the stage.”
