#AxecessJozi “No Flex Zone” Jozi Is Turning Up In A Major Way, Are You Ready?
Mary Fitzgerald Square, Johannesburg – 07 March 2014, – Sixteen top local hip hop stars will join three international hip hop mega stars SchoolboyQ, Rae Sremmurd and Kid Inkat the AXECESSJOZI concert brought to you by Axe in association with Channel O and Yfm.
However, we regret to announce that Tyga will no longer be performing at the AXECESSJOZI concert due to Chris Brown’s tour ‘Between the Sheets’ with Trey Songz and Tyga, in North America,making stops in most major cities before wrapping up in Los Angeles.
The replacement of Tyga will be Rae Sremmurd and Kid Ink who are the last international hip hop artists to be added to the lineup.
Rae Sremmurd is an American hip hop duo, composed of Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy from Tupelo, Mississippi. They are perhaps best known for their single “No Flex Zone”, which has so far peaked at number 36 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Rae Sremmurd” is “Ear Drummers” backwards, which is the name of their home label Ear Drummers Entertainment.
On May 14, 2014, Rae Sremmurd released their single “No Flex Zone” which gained media attention after an official remix done by Nicki Minaj and Pusha T, and later got popular in the US Charts, raising to #36 on BillboardHot 100. On September 17, 2014 they released their second single entitled “No Type” which rose to #16 on BillboardHot 100.
Brian Todd Collins best known by his stage name Kid Ink is an American rapper from Los Angeles, signed by RCA_Records.He started his career in music as a teenager in after-school music programs making beats and learning about record production. He was inspired by producers Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and Swizz Beatz.This Los Angeles rapper, producer, and performer is best known to seamlessly slip from an irresistible hook. After releasing his first mixtape, World Tour, under the name Rockstar, he started to gain some popularity.
“Show Me” [featuring Chris Brown]introduced the world to the album. Boasting production by DJ Mustard and an unshakable hook from Brown, the track cracked the Top 10 of both Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Rap Songs charts.
On 9 September 2014, “Body Language“, which features Usher and Tinashe, was released as the first single from his upcoming third studio album, Full Speed which is set to be released on February 3, 2015.
This exclusive hip hop concert is guaranteed to be a phenomenal gathering of thousands of hip-hop fans from across Africa to witness the spectacle of nineteenlocal and international hip hop artists and DJs on one stage.
Jalibird, the company behind the spectacular production of the AXECESSJOZI featuring Big Sean in 2014, will be the team behind the production in 2015 in partnership with Glen21 Entertainment. “Just judging by the artist we have on the line-up this event promises to be one of the dopest productions to hit Mzansi in 2015. We have also worked tirelessly to make sure that the hip-hop fans attending will have the turn up of their lives,” says Sibs Jali from Jalibird.
The concert will be hosted by Sammy Sosa and Denise from YFM.
