URBAN PHENOMENON ENTERTAINMENT IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE SECOND ANNUAL MUSIC CONFERENCE AND JAMLA SA TOUR 2014
Urban Phenomenon Entertainment (UPE) will host it’s second Hiphop Festival and Music Conference with a tour from American music game changers: 9thWonder, Rapsody and Halo in November 2014.
UPE in partnership with the Department of Arts and Culture are proud to present the second annual Hiphop Festival and Music Conference to precede the Jamla SA tour.This is a great platform for cultural exchange and allow up and coming artists to be able to position themselves not only locally but globally. As we reflect on the achievements we have made in the past 20 years, events such as this would never have happened under the old regime. This provides us an opportunity as South Africans to work together to implement and embrace cultural diversity through the arts and music.
Who better to impart knowledge and shake up dance floors than Grammy award winning producer 9th Wonder, American rapper Rapsody and Halo will be invading S.A and headlining the .Jamla South African Tour 2014
The music conference will cover critical topics such as artist management, production, label formation , airplay on the local and international music industry platform. It is also set to speak out and open channels about women’s roles and progress in the entertainment industry.
These topics will be addressed by a panel of acclaimed music experts and stakeholders including 9th Wonder, Rapsody, Halo, Reason, DJ Kenzhero, founder of the South African hip-hop music awards Osmic Menoe, Daily Sun and Sunday Sun entertainment editor, Lerato Matsoso as well a representative from SAMRO.
The Conference will take place on Thursday, 13 November 2014 from 14:00 to 15:30 at the Johannesburg Cultural Museum in Newtown. This will be followed by a movie premier of 9th Wonder’s critically acclaimed documentary, The Harvard Fellow. It will be screened at the Bioscope in Maboneng Precinct, Johannesburg at 20:00 followed by a Q & A session hosted by DJ Kenzhero.
