So a good friend of ours at The Social Reviewer has had a bad first hand experience with the people at Sony Mobile South Africa and we are doing all we can to make sure this injustice he is facing is dealt with as soon as possible read the below story and share it please.

So false advertising by Sony Mobile SA has left me phone-less and without contact to the out side world!

In October 2013 I had taken a Sony Xperia Z and Z1 from MTN and for the first few days I was impressed!

First complaint: The Z1 had fell from knee height into a small puddle with barely no water! I had contacted Sony and only had a reply a month later by which time my phone had already been fixed by me for R3500.

So I had left that and exactly a month after my Z1 screen had been fixed by Xperia Z screen decides it want to crack and not work!

So I had immediately contacted Sony Mobile SA and 3 weeks later someone had came to collect my phone. So after 5 weeks of no contact I had finally received an email from the lady (who was no help at all) who had been dealing with my phone.

She had send me an email claiming that the damage was because of Physical abuse!

First of all my phone had 2 flip covers,which I put into a pouch and screen guards on both the back and front of the phone. Not sure who does Sony’s repairs or assessments but that person should really get their glasses fixed! So Sony needs R3500 to fix a screen which has a factory default (according to all major sites and phone reviewers) and this leads to the screen cracking on its own!

Second Complaint: On the quotation I had received its states ‘Out Of Warranty! As Per The Proof Of Purchase’. First of all my phone was bought on October the 28th and no proof of purchase was asked by Sony! Its also states the Phone was bought on the 5/11/2013 which is a total lie and my supplier was Craving Novity when it was clearly MTN according to my papers etc. It also states ‘handset is out of Warranty due to physical damage’. Sony Mobile could actually be saying I had thrown my phone on the floor purposely until the screen cracked!

Third complaint: False Advertising by Sony Mobile has really made me angry!
Its clearly states on their site that the screen is shatter resistant and is made from the toughest glass! It also states that the phone is made from the toughest metal/iron and has ‘unique’ toughness! Also their 13mp camera is not close to 13mp. If you compare an Iphone’s 8mp to the Sony Xperia’s 13mp its a joke! The Iphones is way better! No so ‘Waterproof*’ after all after my Xperia Z1 had fell in into an almost dry puddle and suffered water damage this could not get any worst!

Can you please do me a favour and just go through the ‘Sony Mobile ZA’ facebook page and see all the complaints about the device!
