Converse Chuck 70s collection for 2014
South Africa, 2014 – This season, Converse introduces the Converse All Star Chuck ’70. A new take on an American icon. Borrowing subtle details of sneakers from the era when Converse was celebrated by iconic rock & rollers, basketball legends who have won championships and skateboarders that have ripped pools.
The new Converse All Star Chuck 70s features slight differences that at first might only be recognisable to collectors and more astute fans. However, upon careful inspection this killer sneaker features added cushioning, higher rubber foxing, a smaller toe box and off-white midsole finish. Additional details include extra stitching on the sidewall, nickel hardware (eyelets and ventilation), a reinforced canvas heel strip, thick cotton laces and premium heavy grade uppers.
The original classic black and white sneakers will be available, together with other original colours by Converse in sunflower and crimson. The new Converse All Star Chuck ‘70 is anything but traditional. It’s the beating heart of counter-culture; the last one standing at the party, a vibrant shot of colour breaking out in a gray world.
The new 1970s Chuck Taylor All Star will be available in selected Stuttafords, Sportscene and Shesha
