GAUTENG CARNIVAL BRINGS JOY TO THE STREETS OF TSHWANE
The Gauteng Social Cohesion Carnival, in partnership with REDD’s, took place at the Tshwane Events Centre on the 24th of September 2016. It saw a kaleidoscopic procession with magnificent floats, stilt walkers, giant puppets and Samba dancers parading through the inner city streets of Tshwane. As if the street procession was not enough, guests were unleashed to a world of entertainment JOY courtesy of DJ Shimza, Major League DJs and other crisp local and national SA entertainers who saw guests dance the afternoon away.
This event-extravaganza, which also coincided with SA’s National Heritage Day, was attended by a wide array of groups who were adorned with pride in their unique traditional attires from cultures across Africa and Europe. The participants filled up the 5.6km stretch in carnival walk. Dignitaries and other internationals also celebrated diversity and their unique cultures in unison. ͞What better way to celebrate Heritage Day than at the Gauteng Carnival.
