For the first time in Toyota presents DRUMBeat concert’s history, Toyota, DRUM Magazine and Hilltop Live have invited Mi Casa to perform once again at Toyota presents DRUMBeat 2016. This follows their successful show stopping performance at the 2015 installment.
Mi Casa is the first band in the festival’s six year history to return to the stage. Not only are they a SAMA Nominated and Winning hit house band, but they were so well received in 2015, which is why it just made sense to delight the audience once again and have them perform at this year’s Toyota presents DRUMBeat.
Since 2010, South African house music group, Mi Casa, has skyrocketed to success, with their signature soulful sound and unparalleled creativity. Their unique sound is hailed as being a truly global soulful house genre.
Mi Casa comprises of 3 highly talented musos: Mo-T, J’Something and Dr Duda. They released their debut album Micasa Music, which quickly saw the dance trio reach new heights and the album reaching platinum status within 6 months of release. This accomplishment and many more has put Mi Casa on the music radar.
They have shared a stage with international acts such as Drake, The Layabouts, Reel People and Tortured Soul. Mi Casa followed up with their album Su Casa Mi Casa, which went on to become a double platinum seller. Home Sweet Home is Mi Casa’s highly anticipated studio album, released in 2015 and has seen the band continue their chart success with singles “Don’t Wanna Be Your Friend” and “Mumble in the Jungle”. Mi Casa will join Karabo, Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, Nathi, Kwesta, Nasty_C, Solly Mahlangu and Mobi Dixon this August.
Two stages will bring live jazz, hip hop, house and pop at the Soweto Theatre, where 5000 music lovers will watch the sun set over Soweto. Tickets are available from Computicket.
