AXE and GoodSundae ready to bring explosive end to Durban July weekend
AXE, in collaboration with GoodSundae, is in final preparations for what promises to be an explosive event to end off the upcoming Durban July weekend.
GoodSundae, now a highly anticipated KZN-based event, was established in 2011 with a simple purpose: to provide a memorable entertainment experience for KwaZulu-Natal’syoung urban market.
Featuring some of South Africa’s hottest entertainers, GoodSundae has quickly risen to become a renowned entertainment property, bringing patrons’ favorite artists and creating slick and memorable event experiences through a common passion – music.
On Sunday, 06 July, AXE and GoodSundae will be taking over People’s Park East at Moses Mabhida Stadium, bringing performances by the legendary Thebe and Zola, Teargas’ Ma-E, phenomenal new kid on the block Kid X, Maggz and Durban’s very own, DreamTeam.
“AXE’s partnership with GoodSundae makes perfect sense for the brand because GoodSundae represents what AXE is about; it’s cool, it’s fun, it’s about engaging and meeting new people and creating great memories. It’s also an opportunity for us to engage with our audience and be a part of bringing them an experience they will enjoy,”says Sphe Mjadu, Public Relations Manager for Personal Care Brands at Unilever.
“In preparing for this event, we asked GoodSundae supporters to tell us who they want to see at the event, and we are giving them what they have asked for. Four years since we launched, we’ve learned the importance of understanding what our market wants because they are the reason we have continued to grow from strength to strength,’ adds GoodSundae’s Sibs Jali.
GoodSundae was initially established as a monthly event catering to, on average, 1,000 patrons, interspersed with select events that catered to over 4,000 people. “This year, our focus has been on strengthening the quality of our events, leading us to changing our strategy to now deliver only six mind-blowing events a year that can cater for up to 5,000 people,” concludes Mr Jali.
Entertainers that have featured on GoodSundae lineups include, amongst others, Cassper Nyovest, AKA, De Les, Black Coffee, DJ Fresh, Euphonik, SPHEctacula, BigNuz, DJ Naves, DJ Vigilante and many more.
As thousands of South Africans prepare to flock to the Zulu Kingdom for the annual Durban July festivities, GoodSundae is bringing the perfect end to what promises to be an unforgettable weekend.
Doors open at 1pm and presold tickets are available through Computicket for R150.
