Lady Zamar, Ntando, Nasty C, Vusi Nova, Speedsta, Mo flava, Okmalumkoolkat, Tim Mosha, Thando Thabethe, Amon Mokoena, Soul Kulture and Thuli P have been secured to deliver the goods to revelers of the 11th Annual Mams Arts Festival on the 28th of October 2017. Bringing together Tshwane local stars such as Sol Shibambu and young talent, AmaSouljah, Yung Cyber, Dino and Divalash. The three day festival promises to be one of the biggest music events of the year. The Mams Arts Festival (MAF) 2017 in its entirety is scheduled for 26 – 28 October 2017 in and around Mamelodi.

The multi-disciplinary music and lifestyle festival, is an annual cluster of creative industries that encompasses socio-cultural development (Mams Arts Entrepreneurial 101 Dialogue), networking opportunities (Mams Comedy Night), market development and audience development (Mams Music Festival).

To launch the 2017 programme a dialogue featuring celebrated entrepreneurs within the business of the arts will be held on Thursday the 26th under the banner MAMS Arts and Entrepreneurship 101 Dialogue, with Sophie Ndaba, Delphine Klaasen , Paul Modjadji, and Melba Nkosi as speakers. While on Friday the 27th of October is dedicated to an evening of comedy with comedic alumni Salesman, Mashabela Galane and Skhumba billed to entertain.

The initiative is strongly embedded in line with the Department of Arts, Culture and Heritage in terms of the local economic development of creative industries, sustainable legacy project, social cohesion, tourism destination, arts and culture grassroots development, capacity building of local NGOs, job creation and the revitalization of the township economy among other objectives. Since its inception in 2007, the Mams Arts Festival (MAF) has grown in visitor numbers and now counts as the largest event of its kind in the City of Tshwane and has become one of the most visible event brands in the Gauteng Province.

The 2016 edition saw a record number of attendees totaling 15 769.

Organised by Mamelodi based events management company Lamathonsini Entertainment under the leadership of Founder and brainchild behind the festival Jerry Nkuna, the festival is made possible in part by the Department of Arts and Culture and the City of Tshwane.
